Anthurium sp. ‘Amazonas Mountain’ Dark Form is a remarkable foliage form distinguished by its elliptic-lanceolate leaves, coriaceous texture, and distinctly glossy surface, features that give the plant a refined and elegant appearance. The leaf blades display a deep, saturated dark green tone, which can appear almost velvety under certain lighting conditions, a defining trait that fully supports its “dark form” designation.
The midrib is clearly defined and slightly lighter in tone, creating a subtle yet attractive contrast across the lamina. The leaves show a clean outline, with an acute to subacuminate apex and a gently narrowed base, resulting in a balanced and sophisticated silhouette. Even at a juvenile stage, the foliage already expresses strong structural character, suggesting excellent maturation potential as the plant develops.
From a botanical and ornamental perspective, this form stands out for its compact habit, relatively short internodes, and foliage that emphasizes rich pigmentation, natural gloss, and structural symmetry. This combination of dark foliage, firm texture, and elegant form makes it especially desirable among collectors of rare Anthurium.
Native to the Amazonas region of Peru, this form reflects the character of highland tropical Anthuriums: plants adapted to humid environments, with resilient foliage and an appearance closely associated with cloud forest and premontane rainforest ecosystems.
