Anthurium sp. 'Aguaytiense' Velvety Wild Ecotype | (Actual Plant You'll Receive!)
Anthurium sp. ‘Aguaytiense’ Velvety is a beautiful Amazonian Anthurium ecotype native to the riverbanks of the Aguaytía River, a river located in Peru, flowing through mountains covered with lush Amazonian understory vegetation. In its natural habitat, constant humidity, filtered light, and dense tropical vegetation create the perfect environment for wild Anthurium species to thrive.
This plant stands out for its luminous green leaves with a soft, velvety texture, giving the foliage a delicate, elegant, and very natural appearance. The leaf surface has a subtle sheen, more silky than glossy, reflecting light softly like many plants adapted to the humid understory of the Amazon rainforest.
Its juvenile leaves show a cordate to slightly elongated shape, with soft lobes and a clear central vein that runs gracefully through the blade. On the underside, the leaves reveal a lighter green tone with more visible secondary veins, enhancing its botanical and wild character.
The name ‘Aguaytiense’ refers to its origin near the Aguaytía River, highlighting its geographic identity and value as a Peruvian locality Anthurium. The addition “Velvety” perfectly describes its most special feature: leaves that are velvety, soft, and pleasant to the touch.
