Anthurium sp. 'Selva Negra' | (Actual Plant You'll Receive!)
Anthurium sp. ‘Selva Negra’ is a Peruvian native Anthurium with a very elegant, dark presence, typical of plants adapted to humid mountain environments, where constant mist, high atmospheric humidity, and filtered light favor firmer leaves with deeper, more intense coloration.
This specimen stands out for its cordate to slightly sagittate leaf shape, with rounded upper lobes and an elongated blade that tapers into a fine, elegant tip. The leaf surface shows a very dark green tone, almost black under certain lighting conditions, with a satin-matte visual texture that gives it a deep and mysterious appearance. That is why the name ‘Selva Negra’ fits so well—it conveys the feeling of humid forest, dense shade, and mountain jungle vegetation.
From a botanical perspective, it shows a well-defined central midrib in a lighter green tone, from which the lateral veins emerge in a soft and orderly pattern. The petiole insertion point is especially attractive, with a lighter area that enhances the contrast of the leaf. The underside is a lighter green, which is common in many dark-foliaged Anthuriums, since the upper surface tends to concentrate more pigmentation and better protection from light exposure.
